Algebra 1 & Pre-cal
This is my second year teaching. I started mid-semestar for the 2019-2020 school year teaching Algebra 2 & Pre-cal. I am excited to start the year!
Before deciding to become a teacher, I worked in the mental health field. I did several jobs including case work for individuals living with mental illness, CRISIS work in several counties, provided rehab therapy, and used evidenced-based curriculum with my caseload. During my time working in this field, I became an advocate for mental health and suicide awareness. I feel that the skills I possess would be better used in a school setting as a large majority of those I worked with were school-aged children. I know the importance a teacher can have in the lives of each student, and hope to build a bridge between education and mental health.
I am married to Joshua Paiva. Together we have two daughters, Maisyn and Hadlee.
We also have three dogs: Kona, Akela, and Nox. We went to WTAMU together and shortly after graduating moved back to Brownfield to be closer to family. We were both raised in Brownfield and are so excited to both be working for the district! Go Cubs!!
